Book 7

Golden Nightmares

Status: Prose draft completed

Rishi and Maeril finally choose to return home to Baldur’s Gate.

But before the road can bring them back, Elisa’s dead past comes back to life. Firemind’s impossible return opens the wound she never escaped: Waterdeep, the Stone of Golorr, Rika’s death, the Beacon of Hope, and enemies powerful enough to turn memory into a weapon.

So the Monk and the Witch turn aside.

Toward Waterdeep — the City of Splendors — where corruption wears law, money, masks, noble names, and locked doors. Manshoon moves in the shadows. Xanathar dreams below the streets. The dragon cache is no longer treasure. It is leverage, legitimacy, and power waiting for the wrong hands.

Then the nightmare reaches the road.

A beast born of fear and beholder-dream tears through a woodcutting camp before they ever reach the city walls. Rishi and Maeril enter Waterdeep under borrowed faces, but disguise will not be enough. Here, mercy must stand in the open, wards must rise across the city, and the past refuses to remain memory.

When fear can dream itself into flesh, someone has to wake the city.
