A Broken Family

After the grove, the Wealdath does not let Rishi and Maeril simply leave.

The Suldusk have seen too much. The Moonglade house keeps them close — not forgiven, not welcomed, but watched by people who owe them too much and trust them too little. For Rishi and Maeril, staying is harder than traveling. The road let pain fall behind them. This house asks them to sleep beside it, train beside it, eat beside it, and live with what happened.

But one changed grove has not healed the forest. As Moonlight approaches, grief gathers, the broken mythal stirs, and the Staff of Warding becomes more than a gift of love. It becomes a living record of a question no one can answer.

Did the Monk and the Witch help mend the family that took them in?

Or did they bring something worse home?
