Book 4

Pale Sap Weakness

At the edge of the Wealdath, Mosstone is sick, and every symptom has become political.

Humans are weakening. Work is failing. Fear is turning toward the Suldusk elves moving through town untouched by Pale Sap Weakness, while the fragile relationship with the Elmanesse hangs over every accusation. Rishi and Maeril arrive as travelers who mean to help. In Mosstone, usefulness becomes leverage.

Then Maeril finds Aestra: a young Elmanesse warlock, bound to a sick dryad, hunted by the Suldusk. Helping her turns care into interference. Interference becomes trespass.

As the Moonglade sisters close around them, Rishi and Maeril are pulled from town sickness into forest law, old elven grief, failing bonds, and a wound rooted deeper than Mosstone. This time, competence is not enough. Good intentions are not enough. The forest’s wound demands more than a cure.
